Hi! I did notice the discussion on Speedcore as a Punk subgenre. I read the cited MRR Article and thought i'd give it a try as the redirect to Thrashcore is not completely correct.

This is what i'd like to submit:

"Speedcore" referred to a trend within Hardcore Punk. In the mid 1980ies many bands aimed to push Hardcore to extreme speeds, often using D-Beats and integrating elements of Speed Metal to their style. While most bands evolved towards other styles, such as Crossover Thrash, Crust, Powerviolence or Grindcore, or even abandoned the Metal elements again, Speedcore remained mostly a short-lived trend for many, appearing on few albums or even just individual songs. However, the fusion of Speed Metal and Hardcore Punk has been sporadically revisited by bands like Cripple, Grba, PsychoMosher, Ripper, and Wolfblood.

In the realm of electronic music, Speedcore also refers to an especially fast variant of Techno. Bands that combine electronic Speedcore Techno with Hardcore Punk are sometimes categorized as "Speedcore Punk," such as the group Inukoro from Japan.
